Real Estate DeveloperSince late 2003 Cathy has been the owner, operator and President of The Dog Club of West Linn. The Dog Club currently employs 12 people, which includes a full time manager, part time retail sales associates, daycare/boarding attendants and dog groomers.

Cathy works closely with her manager and staff and oversees all aspects of the business from the daily operations, ordering merchandise, scheduling events and managing the real estate. The Dog Club is open seven days a week, therefore a lot of scheduling, personnel issues and logistics are required to keep the operation running smoothly.

Prior to venturing into the pet service industry, Cathy was manager of Princeton Group in Portland for the better part of twelve years. In this position she managed the office of the company; oversaw the operations of various real estate assets and managed various client accounts. Princeton owned and operated executive suite facilities, incubator type industrial buildings and managed operations for various developers.

Educated as a teacher with a B.A. in English and Education from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1976, Cathy began her career in teaching. Within a short time she determined teaching really was not the field for her.

Cathy’s roots in Armada, Michigan, truly a “Norman Rockwell” type of town, give her the ability to connect with people; a strong attribute in her current passion as owner of The Dog Club of West Linn. Cathy combines her business accumen and love of dogs to make things happen and happen profitably.

As co-owner of the Cox Group property, Cathy uses her background and expertise to provide an active overview of the operations from building management to client relations. She is involved in the quality assurance of the property; watching the details, monitoring expenses and insuring tenants are happy.
