HaroldpicHarold N. Cox, owner of The Cox Group, is a recognized leader in commercial real estate acquisition, development,  management and finance.

With over 30 years’ experience, Harold’s area of expertise includes all aspects of commercial real estate development including project sourcing, feasibility, financing, planning, management of the pre-construction and construction process, leasing, tenant improvement coordination, project management and property operations.

Harold’s real estate career in commercial lending began at Union Bank of California in the early 80’s. As Vice President/Manager for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, Harold had the opportunity to grow his network of lending and client relationships and become a dominant lender in the market.

At the time Union Bank was owned by Standard Charter Bank based in London, England. When Standard Charter sold Union Bank to the Bank of Tokyo, Harold took this as an opportunity to move back to his native Portland, Oregon and join Norris, Beggs and Simpson. As Vice President and Director of Finance for NB&S, Harold was responsible for commercial mortgage lending throughout the Northwest and Western US.

In 1993, Harold formed the predecessor company to The Cox Group, a commercial real estate services company. In 2001 Harold acquired the property known as The Water Tower Building in Johns Landing area of Portland, OR and began the transition from doing solely commercial mortgage lending to commercial real estate ownership, development and management.

Past President of The Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association, past President of The Portland Industrial Rotary Club, recipient of the Franklin W. White Award from the Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association, guest lecturer at Portland State University, contributing author to various trade publications, expert witness to multiple State and Federal Courts, along with many other industry related activities round out who Harold is.
